Grand Opening of a New Sports Gear Store

There is a huge new sports gear store opening up in Mt. Juliet this weekend. I noticed it when they first broke ground on the property back in the Spring. It was so big that I thought they were building one of those huge multiplex movie theaters. I was surprised when it turned out to not be a movie theater but a sports store.

The flyer that I got in the mail says that the grand opening is going to be a big deal, with lots of giveaway items to the first couple hundred shoppers in the new store, door prizes given away while you are shopping, and special money saving coupons on select brands and items, like insulated high top hunting boots for only $15, and fingerless gloves for only $4 all weekend.

you can bet your ass that I’ll be there this Saturday and looking for some bargains. And with the store being in mt. Juliet, that’s only a ten minute drive from my house – so I’ll probably be a regular shopper there now that they will be open.

This Grass Grows Fast

We have had a lot of Spring rain, so between the rain, the grass seed I put down last month, and the warmer temps, my yard is growing grass like crazy. It needs to be cut at least once a week in normal weather, which usually burns an hour of my Saturday mornings. My grass could actually use a second, mid week cut to keep it from getting our of control.

I went ahead and cut the grass this morning around 8:00 and got it out of the way. I even bagged the clippings so that the lawn doesn’t have a problem with thatch. A quick shower, then I was off to my girl’s house to scoop her up and head over to the Lake. It was crowded as hell, and we barely got a place to park. In fact, there were so many fucking kids running around screaming and crying that we got sick of it and left earlier than planned.

Dropped her off at home to get changed and cleaned up, then we are heading downtown for some bar hopping and clubbing. That’s my weekend so far.

Fantasy sports

Every year I play in several fantasy sports leagues in everything from auto racing to baseball and everything in between. The only fantasy leagues I do not play in are golf and basketball. I guess it is a culture thing I do not play golf and I hate basketball, to many showboats and not enough basketball I guess. I have went to a pro basketball game while on a business trip to Oakland the client took us to a Warriors game and in person it was fun to watch but on TV it is boring and not a lot of fun to sit through. I have won a few leagues I have joined but I have fun with the leagues and will continue to play fantasy sports online.

Season starts soon

Hockey season starts soon and I can not wait, I have become a huge hockey fan since I moved to Nashville. I love the Predators and have had season tickets for the last three years, I can not wait to get my butt in my seat and cheer on my team. I think that this year will be a good one. We have a lot of last years play-off team back and I think we can count on some of our young guys to pick up the slack from the people we did lose in this off season. The one I will really miss is Darcy Hordichuck who was traded in the off season. Go Predators.
