We got hit today by one of the weatherman’s pop up thunderstorms. We had a 50% chance of thunderstorms and it rained here for an hour so i guess we got our 50%. This summer has been kind of hit and miss for rain here so this storm was well needed. We are still ahead of last year and it looks like the drought is well over with. It is nice when everything gets green here such a nice change from when I lived in Arizona when everything was a nice dull brown the year round.

Best Burgers
A lot of the restaurants in town have very good burgers but no a one of them match the burgers we cook on our own grill. My wife mixes onions inside the burgers and they cook up so thick and juicy. We are having some tonight cooked on the grill with her famous green and white salad, a very nice summer dinner that we will eat outside if the bugs allow us to. I like cooking on the grill it is so fast and does not heat up the house. We use our grill year around I have been seen out in the snow flipping burgers, summer is a much better time to use the grill and we do use it a lot in the summer time.
Vacation
Next week I go on vacation and I am a bit concerned about the high price of gasoline, but we are still going to go on our trip, just not as far as we have went in the past. A quick trip to Chicago to see a Cubs game and then down to 6 Flags in Kentucky for a couple of days on our way home. Not a huge trip but we are looking forward to it. The family has not spent a lot of time together this year between school and work it has been very hectic. I look forward to this time with family.
Almost vacation time
It is not time for my vacation yet but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, wait is that a train coming? I am so ready to lay on a beach or go fishing or just sit at home with the phone off, I am not sure which way I am going to go, and when I decide I will be gone in a heart beat. Once a year is not enough time off for vacation and I am asking for more time next year.
Reptile
As I was walking the dogs yesterday, Diva our smallest dog got stiff and snarled and as I looked I found a huge box turtle in the yard, the thing was 10 inches across. I have not seen a turtle that big except for snapping turtles in my life. This thing was huge, and Diva was not afraid a bit. She wanted to get a hold on this beast, it was all I could do to hold her back. When I went back out later the turtle was gone back to the safty of the woods behind our house.
