Amazing

While on a run to grab some food today I watched in amazement as a policeman chased a car through a parking lot onto the road I was driving right in front of me. It did not look like the guy was going to stop. When he did I could see that his tag was expired by three months I guess thats why the cop was chasing him, but why run from the cop if that is all you had wrong, pay the fine get your tags caught up and go on about your business. I would not of been surprised to see this dumb ass wind up in handcuffs and all for an expired tag. To my amazement it was not a red car, but I BET THE CAR AT HOME IS RED.

Long lines

The long lines at the gas stations have begun to ease up a bit, some of the lines over the weekend had waits of over 2 hours. I am not a real fan of waiting for anything let alone gasoline in a vehicle with no air conditioning. Now the AAA is saying that only 30% of the stations here do not have gasoline and the lines are very small compared to the line from the weekend. It looks like everything may be back to normal here by the start of the weekend. I remember the gas rationing that we had in 1973 in Oklahoma only one station in our little town and almost no gasoline I really hope we never get to that level again although it seemed like we were headed that way the last few eeks here in Nashville. With no gasoline at a lot of gas stations and long lines at the ones who did have gasoline.

Season starts soon

Hockey season starts soon and I can not wait, I have become a huge hockey fan since I moved to Nashville. I love the Predators and have had season tickets for the last three years, I can not wait to get my butt in my seat and cheer on my team. I think that this year will be a good one. We have a lot of last years play-off team back and I think we can count on some of our young guys to pick up the slack from the people we did lose in this off season. The one I will really miss is Darcy Hordichuck who was traded in the off season. Go Predators.

Coyotes

With the metro area expanding deeper into the farmlands and woodlands, encroaching on wildlife is starting to affect the new neighborhoods. Deer are often seen in people’s backyards and alongside the subdivision streets. At night I often see a red fox scampering across a yard. Next door has trouble with a large raccoon getting into her trash cans at night. And now the people in the big gated communities and large estates are having problems with coyotes. Although coyotes do not attack humans, they do kill pets and will attack cats and dogs even in broad daylight with a human present. So we are going to have to find a way to reduce the coyote population. Killing cats and dogs is just not going to be tolerated.

Concert tonight

We got some ticket to go downtown to the Ryman Auditorium tonight to see Levon Helm of the Band fame in concert. I have wanted to see this show since it was announced and was not sure if we could go or not. Today is concert day and we have cleared our schedule and we are going to go see this great show. They announced special guest tonight as John Hyatt and Delbert McClinton that is a good show on its own, let alone as special guest for the main show. Levon Helm was perhaps the best of the drummer singers in the rock business with only a couple even coming close, Phil Collins and Don Henley of the Eagles were pretty good drummer singers too. I can not wait tonight is going to be a lot of fun and we need the break from work.
