Most of the time when I stop for gas, I just pay at the pump with a credit card or my debit card and I don’t go in the store. But today I was jonesing for a candy bar and I decided to jump inside and grab a Snickers. While standing in line to pay a buck twenty five (really!!??!!) for this candy bar, I saw a little stand with fresh flowers in it by the cash register. The flowers were an assortment of different kinds and colors, and they had some single red roses, too. I decided on impulse to spend $7 on the assorted flowers and I’m going to surprise my girl with them tonight when I get off work. Going to be a nice evening tonight.

Fireworks from the Riverbank
Nashville always has a free concert and fireworks show on the Fourth of July. We have the Nashville symphony that plays during the fireworks – a whole list of classical patriotic songs. But we also have 3 or 4 other types of music before the show.We all just meet up down by the river and spread out blankets on the grass to watch the shows and drink beer.
The free concerts last all afternoon and up until about 9:30, then the family drag their tired asses home and the young people hit the bars to keep on keeping on. Good times!
This Grass Grows Fast
We have had a lot of Spring rain, so between the rain, the grass seed I put down last month, and the warmer temps, my yard is growing grass like crazy. It needs to be cut at least once a week in normal weather, which usually burns an hour of my Saturday mornings. My grass could actually use a second, mid week cut to keep it from getting our of control.
I went ahead and cut the grass this morning around 8:00 and got it out of the way. I even bagged the clippings so that the lawn doesn’t have a problem with thatch. A quick shower, then I was off to my girl’s house to scoop her up and head over to the Lake. It was crowded as hell, and we barely got a place to park. In fact, there were so many fucking kids running around screaming and crying that we got sick of it and left earlier than planned.
Dropped her off at home to get changed and cleaned up, then we are heading downtown for some bar hopping and clubbing. That’s my weekend so far.
Stupid Is As Stupid Does
This graphic was on a friend’s Facebook wall. It made me laugh because she had just done something incredibly stupid last week.
She had a big fight with her boyfriend and kicked him out of the house. Then she was so mad at him that she hunted him down the next day and did something really stupid. I’m not going to bust her ass for what she did. But if you know her you will find out about it soon enough.
Be My Valentine Tonight?
This is the first year in a long time that I have not had a regular girl in my life over Valentine’s Day. It a way it is a relief to not HAVE to buy something like expensive roses or drop a load of cash at a fucking restaurant for dinner, just to get laid later.
I don’t mind doing that, tho. If you are interested. Call me.
